Kobe’s streak with Nike has been so successful, that many of us may forget a little stint he had with Adidas when he first entered into the league. Bryant’s time with Adidas produced some of the most visually stunning shoes ever created, as well as some of the ugliest shoes ever created.
On the visually appealing and stunning side is the Kobe One, originally released in 2000. When you stare at this shoe (and you really do catch yourself staring at this shoe), you get the feeling you are looking at a high performance sports car and, in a sense, you are. The designers at Adidas modeled the Kobe One after the Audi TT. See the similarities?
Forget the fact that some claimed that these shoes were, “unwearable” and “uncomfortable beyond belief” – these things looked SICK and that’s why you wore them. Kobe’s game changed the landscape of the NBA and these shoes spawned a new generation of creativity in the kicks market.
What did you think of the Kobe One? Classic or failure? Do you have a shoe you would like to have featured in, “Can I Kick It?” We want to know and unless you post in the comments, we will never know.
